More overview with colour
On historical pneumatic consoles, it was very common to colour-code the stop tablets. This makes the disposition much easier to understand, for example, when characteristic reed stops are highlighted. Couplers can be distinguished from stops at a glance, or division assignments are immediately clear.
In the early era of plastic tabs, only garish colours reminiscent of Lego bricks were available, and so organ builders gave preference to plain white or black stop panels.
But those days are decades in the past. Modern injection moulding materials can be coloured in fine shades. At Laukhuff, we developed on the basis of the NCS colour system with almost 2000 shades. From this palette we selected eight colours ranging from a not quite black blackwood black to a warm grey and a slightly off-white pearl. Two pairs of light and dark shades from the yellow/red and blue colour spectrum make it possible to put together individual colour schemes for subtle or strong accents in creative console designs.
